Baby Simba cake that I made for my 1 year old Nephew

Sorry for the boring black background- it was in my moms kitchen so there was a bunch of random things in the background lol.


FAQ for this cake:
I got the cake pan from my work (Michaels) you can get it from wilton.com
You HAVE to use 1/2 pound cake and 1/2 regular cake. Unless you are super close to knowing the exact consistancy of your batter.
MAKE MORE THEN WHAT IT SAYS. The pan DOES NOT fit perfectly together! IT WILL LEAK. So add about 1-1/2 cups MORE then what it says!
GENEROUSLY spray the metal pieces (PAM works just fine!) !! I didn't spray the metal core and I couldn't get it out (cracked his poor lil neck...)
LET IT COOL LIKE THE DIRECTIONS SAY! It may take awhile but you MUST go by them to a T for letting it cool! Otherwise he will fall apart
Do not feel scared about carving into this guy! frosting covers it well so any creases are ok (like his ears, I just repositioned them)
I DO NOT recommend using Fondant UNLESS You are experienced with using it! This guy was rather difficult to cover!
